The Finance department
As you know, nothing works without finance, which is why this department is one of our most important. From budget planning to control, payment and management of finances, everything is regulated here.
In cooperation with the budget committee of the StuPa and the university the budget plan will be handcrafted in every detail. Everything needs to be evaluated, balanced, planned and in the end presented. The budget plan has to be adopted by the StuPa and its members, so everything has to be correct and every opinion taken care of.
After the budget plan has passed the StuPa it is time for "normal financing". Paying bills and making sure everyone stays within the bounds of their budget. Of course everything has to be checked, in case something goes wrong, nobody wants to loose money, especially if you handle the money of someone else.
The head of department
My name is Jakob Kuhnle and I'm studying media informatics for my bachelors degree. Since september 2021 I'm responsible for the department of finance in the executive comittee (StEx).
In the context of my area, I make sure that your money is properly managed and arrives at the right place. This includes compliance with the law regulating all Universities in Baden-Württemberg (in german "Landeshochschulgesetz", short "LHG") as well as compliance with resolutions of the Student Parliment (StuPa). Furthermore I'm the contact person for Units, Departmental Student Representations and other StuVe Bodies for all financial matters.
